The appropriate way for your family to apply for family reunification depends on several factors. For example, you may be able to apply under either the Danish national rules or the EU rules. If you have a shared minor child who is a Danish citizen, you may qualify for “parent-child” family reunification. If you meet certain employment-related requirements, your family may also be eligible under the new residence permit scheme for accompanying family members to expatriate Danes.
It is a good idea to familiarise yourself with the different options, as each scheme involves different legal, practical and financial requirements.
