Anne Marie Dalgaard har været generalsekretær i Danes Worldwide siden 2010 og ved om nogen, hvad der kendetegner de globale danskere og deres familier.

Anne Marie Dalgaard er cand. jur. fra Københavns Universitet (1989) og har en Executive Master of Corporate Communication fra CBS (2006).

Allerede i sin jurastudietid var Anne Marie interesseret i internationale forhold. Hun læste EU-ret samt international ret og deltog i Duke University ́s Summer School. Som nybagt cand. jur. kom hun i praktik i EU-Kommissionens juridiske tjeneste.

Efter et kort ophold på et britisk advokatkontor fik Anne Marie ansvaret for det multinationale ingeniørfirma ABB ́s kommunikations- og lobbyaktiviteter i Bruxelles. Her var hun i fire år, indtil ABB og Daimler Benz fusionerede og blev til ABB Daimler Benz Transportation (Adtranz).

I 1998 flyttede hun til Moskva med sin familie, studerede russisk og blev ansat i International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), først som Senior Manager med ansvar for samarbejdspartnere i Europa, senere som Group Manager med ansvar for kommunikation, branding, partnerships, events og management training i ISTC ́s hovedregioner: EU, Nordamerika, Asien og det tidligere Sovjetunionen.

Anne Marie Dalgaard has served as Secretary General of Danes Worldwide since 2010 and is as familiar as anyone with the global Danes and their families.

Anne Marie Dalgaard holds a law degree from the University of Copenhagen (1989) and an Executive Master of Corporate Communication from Copenhagen Business School (2006).

Her interest in international affairs dates all the way back to her time in law school. Anne Marie studied EU law and international law, and participated in Duke University’s Summer School. After graduating from law school, she served as an intern at the EU Commission’s legal service.

Following a brief stint at a British law firm, Anne Marie was appointed head of the international engineering firm ABB’s communication and lobbying activities in Brussels. She spent four years in that post, until the merger of ABB and Daimler Benz to form ABB Daimler Benz Transportation (Adtranz).

In 1998 she moved to Moscow with her family, studied Russian and was hired at International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), first as Senior Manager with responsibility for partners in Europe and later as Group Manager in charge of communication, branding, partnerships, events and management training in ISTC’s main regions: the EU, North America, Asia and the former Soviet Union.
