This is were the Summer School is held

When Den Danske Sommerskole organizes summer schools, we rent a number af Efterskoler that are empty during the students’ summer holidays in July. We choose the locations that have rooms, premises and other facilities that best suit the summer schools. The schools are located on Funen and in Jutland.

Below you can see where the different age groups were located in 2024. We are still working on finding schools for summer 2025.

Summer School 10-17 years – takes place at three different locations

Balle Musik- & Idrætsefterskole

The Danish language and culture track (10-13 years).

Located near Vejle, the school has just been renovated and now has three beautiful halls for all kinds of activities.
There is a dance hall, fitness room, a large music room and a beautiful new lounge.

The rooms are 2-4 person rooms. Some with shared bathrooms and some with private bathrooms.

Bernstorffsminde Efterskole

The Danish language and culture track (14-15 years).
The Confirmation track.

The school is located near Ringe on Funen and we have been working together for almost 40 years. There are 3 large halls with the opportunity to practice all kinds of sports including gymnastics. The school also has its own swimming pool and cinema.

Accommodation is in 2-4 person rooms.

Hjemly Idrætsefterskole

The Danish language and culture track (16-17 years).
The Returning-to-Denmark track.
The Grade 9 Graduation Certificate track.

The school is located near Ringe on Funen. It has three good halls, a synthetic pitch and a completely renovated fitness centre.
Outdoors you can play on the beach court, beach handball or street basketball. The school also has its own music room.

The rooms are 2-4 person rooms. Some with shared bathrooms and some with private bathrooms.

Family Summer School

The Family Summer School is held at Svendborg Efterskole. It is located close to a large forest, beach and the centre of Svendborg.
You will be accommodated in corridors with 2-4 person rooms. All rooms have their own toilet and shower and most rooms also have a balcony.
