Current key issues

Family Reunification

We have worked on passing the current legislation, which helps bring the family of our members to Denmark.

Unemployment insurance

We have successfully worked to remove a law that made it difficult for Danes abroad to get unemployment insurance.

Pensions

We believe that expat Danes should have more rights in regard to social benefits and pensions.

Citizenship

We have worked on making it less difficult for expat Danes to regain and keep their Danish citizenship.

Tax liability

We are actively working to ensure that expat Danes pay taxes in the country where their money is earned.

Voting rights

The association is fighting for expat Danes to have expanded access to vote at the Danish general election.

We are the voice of our members

Representing and communicating the interests of our members to politicians and decision makers is one of the most important tasks we do at Danes Worldwide.

This includes frequent meetings with ministers and other members of the Danish Parliament, as well as active participation in the public debate and Danish media to impact and shape the political agenda.
