Conditions for Family Reunification

You are required to answer all questions truthfully. A “No” response to one or more questions does not necessarily mean that you cannot obtain family reunification in Denmark.
Are you married?*
Are you both over the age of 24?*
Has the foreign spouse or partner visited Denmark at least once?*
Has the Danish spouse or partner received cash benefits or similar public benefits from Denmark within the past 3 years?*
Can you provide a bank guarantee of DKK 61,709.34 (2026 level)?*

The following questions are for the Danish spouse or partner

Have you passed the Danish Folkeskole leaving exam in Danish (9th or 10th grade), or Danish at upper secondary level or an equivalent or higher level of education?*
If no, have you worked full-time (at least 30 hours per week) in Denmark for a total of at least 5 years, during which you communicated daily and to a significant extent in Danish? 
Have you completed at least 6 years of education in Denmark, including at least 1 year at upper secondary level or higher?*

The following questions are for the foreign spouse or partner

Have you worked full-time (at least 30 hours per week) for at least 3 of the past 5 years?*
Have you passed Prøve i Dansk 1 or English at a minimum B1 level?*
For example, if you grew up in an English-speaking country or attended an English-language high school, university, or similar, this may replace the requirement for B1-level English.
Have you completed at least one year of a vocational or higher education programme?*
