Requirements for Reacquisition of Danish Citizenship

You are required to answer all questions truthfully. A “No” response to one or more questions does not necessarily preclude you from reacquiring Danish citizenship.

The following questions relate to you (the applicant)

What is your date of birth?*

What country were you born in?*

Do you have your birth certificate? If not, can you obtain it?*

What citizenships have you had during your life? For each, please state when and how you got it, and in which country.*

Example: “Danish citizenship automatically by birth, American citizenship by application on 1 December 1999”.

Do you have documentation of how and when you got your foreign citizenships, such as a certificate of citizenship? If not, can you obtain it?*

Have you resided and been registered as a resident in Denmark for more than three consecutive months before turning 22?

Have you spent a total of more than 12 months (365 days) in Denmark before turning 22?
